Meet Angelica Faith Sison, one of our esteemed Associate Marriage and Family Therapists #141702 at Olive Leaf. Under the guidance of Cheryl Hixson, Angelica specializes in addressing anxiety, depression, and loss.
Angelica's passion lies in working with the younger population, including elementary school children and young adults. Drawing from her personal connection to the adoption community, she finds joy in assisting individuals living with anxiety, depression, and grief, helping them navigate their emotions and challenges.
In her therapeutic approach, Angelica combines Person-Centered Therapy techniques with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She also incorporates mindfulness exercises into her sessions and has a keen interest in Compassion-Focused Therapy and Polyvagal Therapy.
Angelica holds a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Her experience spans a wide range of age groups, equipping her with a diverse skill set to cater to the unique needs of her clients.
At the heart of Angelica's work is a profound desire to instill hope in those who may have lost theirs. She aims to help clients heal from past traumas and losses, fostering a sense of self-love and compassion for themselves and others.
Angelica's philosophy is deeply rooted in love and understanding. Drawing inspiration from 1 Corinthians 16:14, she believes in doing everything with love. Another guiding principle for her is the quote by Yasmin Mogahed: "Being soft and strong is a combination very few have mastered." Through her work, Angelica hopes to teach her clients to navigate life with strength and gentleness, ensuring they feel supported at every step.
