As a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, Giselle enjoys working with families, children, adolescents and adults. She hopes to be a guiding voice for those who are brave enough to reach out for help and are willing to work towards attaining their goals, as well as those who are struggling and need guidance toward the light out of the darkness.
Her approach to therapy involves using her own life experiences and curiosity to empathize and validate the client(s). She walks alongside her clients, helps them process, and assists them in learning the tools and skills they need to attain their treatment goals.
Giselle’s main goals when working with clients are that they know she will give them her full attention, to demonstrate that she’s invested in their wellbeing, and that they will be assured that she will be with them every step of the way. She wants her clients to graduate from therapy feeling like they no longer need it because they've learned the tools and skills they need to make it on their own.
Before becoming part of the Olive Leaf family, Giselle received her B.S. in Social Psychology with an emphasis on human development and an M.A. in Couple and Family Therapy. She is also certified in Trauma-Focused CBT, and has extensive experience with DBT and Attachment Theory.
One of her favorite quotes related to what she does comes from Brene Brown, and it says, “Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light."
