In Loving Memory of Ryley
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved therapy dog, Ryley. For years, Ryley was more than just a part of our Olive Leaf Family Therapy team—she was a cherished companion, a comforting presence, and a gentle soul whose impact cannot be measured.
Ryley greeted everyone who walked through our doors with an unwavering warmth and unconditional love. She had an extraordinary gift for sensing what each person needed: whether it was the quiet comfort of her presence nearby or the gentle reassurance of a soft nuzzle, Ryley knew how to approach each person with exactly the right touch—sometimes curling up silently on the floor beside them, and at other times seeking out a pat or placing her chin on a knee. Her intuitive nature and empathetic spirit brought solace and joy to all who met her.
When she wasn’t brightening our office, Ryley lived with the Slagle family, where she took on the special role of caring for her grandparents and enjoying the delights of Grandma’s delicious treats. Her life outside the office was just as full of love and joy as the time she spent with us.
Ryley was an active dog who participated in bike riding, swimming, and Canine Agility, a hobby that brought her and her handler, Laura, great excitement and mental challenge. She attended agility classes weekly as well as an occasional agility trial. She also gave the sport of Barn Hunt a try, which she enjoyed even more. Her achievements included a few ribbons from those sports, as well as earning a Therapy Dog Certificate from Therapy Dogs International and the prestigious Canine Good Citizen title, affirming her exceptional temperament and dedication.
Ryley’s presence enriched our lives in countless ways. She was not just a therapy dog but a true friend and confidant. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those she touched with her kindness and grace. As we say farewell, we find comfort in the countless moments of warmth and love she shared with us all.
Ryley, you will be deeply missed, but never forgotten!
