Alexis Burger, MS, LPCC, NCC
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, LPCC 13912
EMDR | Trauma | Identity
Alexis is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor at Olive Leaf Family Therapy. With her “human first, therapist second" mindset, Alexis hopes that clients will know and feel that no matter who they are, what experiences they have gone through, or what they look like, they are deserving of love.
She earned a B.A. in Psychology and M.S. in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at California State University, Fresno. Along with being passionate about providing a safe space to discuss any mental health matters, she is adept with assisting individuals with their vocational needs.
Alexis is also trained and working toward certification in EMDR (eye-movement desensitization and reprocessing). Although EMDR was created to be used to treat those with traumatic memories, it is now used to treat depression, anxiety, phobias, and many other mental health concerns.
Alexis is particularly sensitive to the needs of adults who have experienced trauma and stigmatization. She believes that individuals have the power to make the changes necessary to better themselves, and the role of a therapist is to assist them in better understanding, coping with, and processing emotions and memories tied to those traumatic experiences.
